BANGWAVE is happy to announce a mix by Venus DeMars, AKA Vinyl-Venus bringing you her program dubbed SPACE LOUNGE. Venus is a songwriter and recording artist with long list of both solo and band albums.
She is a Twin Cities Rock Icon and leader of All the Pretty Horses. She’s an international LGBT icon and a subject of a rock documentary movie and yes, DJs too!
This is not a collection of “Space Rock” nor “Lounge Music”. Venus is from the Planet Mars and she heard all of these tunes on her way down to our planet.
When she landed she started to procure a now outrageously large collection of Vinyl Records. Venus spins 90 % real Vinyl -Retro, 80s New Wave, 70s Glam, Punk, Underground, Classic Disco, Classic Soul and odd bits.
There is something about the analog distortion gives you a sense that the broadcast is from the other side of the galaxy.
Venus performs live DJ sets at various locations spanning the globe. Check your GPS! Immediately after this set was recorded, she was on a flight to perform in the Toronto GLBT Pride festival.
